The OO-Ray is Ted Laderas, known for his exploration of cello improvisation and distortion. He often layers multiple cello harmonies mixed with distortion in order to produce a feeling of musical ecstasy in the listener.
Inspired by the rugged landscapes of inland Hawaii, each track of Waimea is a miniature shoegazer symphony illuminated with island dusk. It is an expansion of his previous cello-based work in its synthesis of guitar, cello and percussion unified through the haze of overdrive and fuzz. Waimea is a Mobius strip, ending its listener back at its starting point richer for having made the journey.
