About Distance
Distance Recordings is an internet based record label releasing music ranging from pure Eno-esque ambience to more aggressive noise, folk inspired drone, electro-acoustic and dreamy shoegaze styles of music. Since 2008, Distance has been supporting Creative Commons licensing and the free music movement by providing all releases free of charge in high quality formats 320K MP3 and FLAC. We believe in offering high quality music, we believe in DIY, and we believe in labors of love.

There are ideas for the future of Distance, one idea being kicked around is doing limited run cassettes and possible 7" releases. Keep an eye on the news section for the latest.

Demo Policy
We're always watching and listening for new music and new artists who are pushing the boundaries of fringe music and interested in putting out recordings that fit in with our philosophy and aesthetic.

If you're an artist interested in sending us a demo, send an email to distrec AT NOSPAM gmail dot com requesting our postal address, alternatively, you can email links to MP3 files (please don't attach any MP3's to the email).
